I received the Pre-Test Series from a friend.
Some are for step 2 but there is also some for step 1.
These books are only questions, with answers and explanations.
I didn't read any reviews here about these books.
Does anybody know them? Do you think they are useful?
or a complete waste of time???
Thanks ;)

hi, yea,

I never planned to buy those Pre-Test ones from McGraw Hill,

But the book shop guy falsely made me believe that they were absolutely necessary for step 1,

and I bought some - Microbiology, Pharmacology, Physiology and Anatomy/Histology/Cell Biology.

I've decided that first things come first and am doing Kaplan, FA, UWorld, Goljan, etc

But if I find some spare time I'll do some questions from them too, but usually Pre-Test questions are not of high Yield, as they say.

I'd suggest u keep them as secondary books for ur prep, and the high yield ones as primary resource.

Pretest series outdated

The pretest series used to be the standard prep books back in the 90s. Nowadays they lost their flavor and they no longer represent the exam style.

However, they are still popular in Step 2 specially among Americans.
