hi, yea,
I never planned to buy those Pre-Test ones from McGraw Hill,
But the book shop guy falsely made me believe that they were absolutely necessary for step 1,
and I bought some - Microbiology, Pharmacology, Physiology and Anatomy/Histology/Cell Biology.
I've decided that first things come first and am doing Kaplan, FA, UWorld, Goljan, etc
But if I find some spare time I'll do some questions from them too, but usually Pre-Test questions are not of high Yield, as they say.
I'd suggest u keep them as secondary books for ur prep, and the high yield ones as primary resource.
