Just been trying to find explanations on how propanolol acts in hypertension.

Seeing that it is an Non selective Beta Blocker, The Beta2 activity in the vasculature is blocked and uninterrupted alpha1 mediated vasoconstriction would ensue. So This would further increase the Afterload wouldnt it increasing the bp further.

Can someone kindly put me out of misery?
