there is ONLY one bacteria that causes two malignancies. name all three.

hint.... one cancer is adenocarcinoma of __

hmm.... i think its H. Pylori

It increases the risk of Gastric Carcinoma & it can also increase the risk of Gastric MALTomas.

absolutely right.... adenocarcinoma of stomach and low grade malignant lymphoma

what else you can tell me hy facts about h pylori

Gram negative rod

Treat with triple therapy:
Metronidazole, Bismuth and Amoxicillin or Tetracycline
or
Metronidazole, Omeprazole and Clarithromycin

hmm....

urease +ve, gram negative rod, associated with Peptic ulcer disease in the antral region mainly..

Presence can be checked by stool antigen, antibody essay & Urea breath test.... i don't know which is the superior though... treated with triple therapy

i think thats all... that comes to my mind regarding H. Pylori rite now...:eek:

I believe the hallmark test is urea breath test.....though a stool antigen would definitely confirm it, but I may be wrong!
