Not many people know about that point..

If my (form 186) was accpeted and is now valid, it bears the dates of graduation and diploma, etc..
Now when your school sends a copy of a temporary diploma, it's rejected (ECFMG wants the final, not temporary..), you are required to re-apply online, and will be asked again the same 20 items..
The issuing date of the diploma on form 186 is jan 2009..now your school has issued your FINAL diploma and are willing to send it again, but the date on it is jan 2010, not 2009..
Can you change that date when re-applying online and being asked those questions? or is that a mistake? since you already have a valid form 186 with a date on it, jan 2009?

Quite tricky, I know..Hope anyone can help and may other people avoid it.

Re-validate form 186

Change the date in the 20 online questions to the new date.

Call ECFMG and ask them to re-validate form 186 and they'll ask you to do it again and they'll cancel the previous one.

There's no other way as far as I can see..

Thank you for your reply, But should I start the process all over again while I have a part of it that's valid? it takes one month to recieve a reply you know..so you really think the date issued on the diploma makes the problem? or is the Graduation date that makes it? (graduation date is correct on the diploma and form 186, the problem is with "date issued"..here we don't recieve diplomas except after one year internship).

Thanks again and your opinion is really appreciated.

Sorry I thought you are talking about the graduation date

Oh I was thinking the graduation date that is different!

They don't ask you about the date of issue in the 20 online questions. They only ask about the date of graduation. So you should have no problem.

If your Form 186 and the 20 online questions and the diploma are all having the same "graduation" date then you should have no problem and even if you do encounter problems in the future you can simply explain to them what happened and in worse case scenario they'll ask you to reapply Form 186.

The questions include Attendance dates, Graduation date, then date of diploma :D

Oh wait.

If there's a question about the date of issue of the diploma then you have to answer the correct latest diploma and contact the ECFMG just like what I told you in the first reply.

Do Not Do Mistakes with ECFMG, the consequences can be devastating.

You have to call them and tell them about the discrepancy between your online application and your prior form 186 even if that means you have to go through the painful process of revalidating your form 186.

dear zein i have the same problem as you i want to change my graduation date i apply in step 1 and put graduation nov 2009

i

we have the same situation ( internship year )

so what you advise me ??

in first application( step 1) i put graduation nov 2009 then internship year ( march 2010 -march 2011)

but i want to put it after internship year march 2011 in the new step 2 application and cs

i can do it or they will ask me that you change your graduation date

Problem about attendance inform 186

Kindly help me about attendance information in form 186 my college period is 2007 to December 2011 but I put date may 2012 in it is there any chance that my application will b rejected
My name ,date of birth,graduation date , degree date all r correct except attendance period which I put march 2007 to May 2012 instead of December 2011 so how would I correct it kindly help me :toosad:
