Regarding interviewing techniques with patients, any body knows what reflection is, and its significance?..

Reflection means you reflect back on the patient's statement to elaborate further instead of giving him/her a direct answer.
Example:
Patient: Am I going to die?
Doctor: Why do you think you will die?
It will help you understand the background and further enrich your history taking. Overuse of it may be counter productive.

It has to be differentiated from
Restatement. This is just rephrasing the patient's statement in clear terms to facilitate clarification.
Example:
Patient: I cannot concentrate, too many racing thoughts in my mind.
Doctor: Does these thoughts in your mind are disturbing to you?
