Step 1 Preparation

Hi Jaysingh,

You've come a long way if you have finished Kaplan Books
How many times have you read the books? did you see the Lectures also?

Now your next steps are to

  • Ace the First Aid because it's highly concentrated high yield material
  • Supplement the Kaplan pathology review with either Goljan RR or BRS
  • Embark on questions practice, suggestions are Kaplan Qbank and USMLE world
  • Then do the NBME tests before the exam

You'll do well if you follow these steps :)

If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact me personally [email protected]

When get your score remember to come back to this post and tell us how you did

Ashtak,
do you mean that Kaplan pathology is not enough?
Not enough yes
but note that I didn't say it's not good
no it's good and highly concentrated
but when it comes to the fact that over 35% of questions being pathology and pathophysiology, one should make sure that pathology preparation is taken to the maximum with multiple resources

Another advice,
Great step 1 pathology preparation will lend itself tremendously useful in your next Step 2 if you haven't taken it yet

hi there..i think u r the right person for helping me out..it took me 2 years of inconsistent and irrational prep for step 1..did KLN with vidz once only ..without anatomy .and then FA twice and UW 40% complete with 50-60% score in timed mode..and also did DIT for a while but left in between..and extended my elig period from june last year to sept last year..took exam despite my low score in nbme..that was a blunder..and failed .180/73..NOW what to do????..how to approach and start prep fresh..what were my pitfalls and loopholes and where to conc more to ace this exam?????????..thanks
