Hey,

I am an IMG and will be sitting step 1 in about a months time. I bought first aid for both step 1 and 2ck. I have been using the step 1 book for some time now and have managed to get a few read throughs. i am now starting some questions to get ready. However, i recently took a quick peek at first aid 2ck and i got a bit confused. much of the material in the book is so similar to step 1 minus the pre-clinical stuff (biochem, immunology etc). Like some parts a quite literally the same but worded differently. Why are these exams so similar?

You are right. Step 1 is getting more clinical by the day I guess. Don't be surprised if you see questions stating what is the next step in management rather than just the mechanism of action in step 1

I dont get why they do it like this. it just seems like they need to change the way the exams are done to avoid needless repetition
