Nice writeup.

Under Experience there are two categories:

So, my question is where does residency outside US (e.g. MD) should be added--under Training or under Experience?
Someone said that all outside residency i.e. postgraduate experience should be included under Experience. Is that true?
Yes, it should be included in the Work Experience section.

Thanks saxo.

Another question:
Where does the Internship period goes?
Since Internship is a mandatory requirement to get MBBS degree it should be part of graduation and not a work experience.
So it is better not to put it under work experience since your MSPE will mention it anyway?
I am getting conflicting from various forums/blogs.
Yes that's true. As it's a requirement for MBBS degree, you don't have to separately put it in work experience section (if the period of internship is clearly mentioned in your MSPE). However, my MSPE just put the date I finished internship as the graduation date (the exact peroid was not mentioned) so I had to include it in the work experience section.

But then why does the "training" section has the drop down choices under country?
I mean it it is not specific to US then why not take credit for residency if you did it in your home country?
Few years ago one of my friend filled his MD under training and matched without a problem.
Those are good points. I know people who matched with blaring mistakes in the ERAS CAF.
I think as long as you are able to explain and talk about it, it does not really matter if you put it in the experience or training section. You can speak with ERAS support services and see what they say.

Another question: Where do you put your thesis which you published as a requirement of your postgraduate degree back home?
There isn't a specific section I can think of where you can put that (as it was a requirement for the degree and not a publication as such, you can't put it in the publication section). If you decide you put the post graduate under experience section then you could write a couple of lines about the thesis in the description

Another question: Under Oral/poster presentation do you put all authors name(s) or just your's since it was you who actually presented?
If the poster has other authors, you have to mention their names (even if you were the only one who presented it orally)

Thanks saxo. You are an expert on the whole application process.

Another question:

If I apply for Prelim and categorical position in IM together then I am only charged fee for one program ( as both are in same program).

I am not clear what happens if I apply only for categorical position now and maybe later apply for Prelim position at the same program.
Is it possible to apply separately (for Prelim and categorical position) at the same program and if it is possible then will I be charged twice or only once?
I am not an expert buddy, we are in the same boat
Yes, you will be charged for both preliminary and categorical separately. You can apply to each of them when you want to. Usually, people avoid applying to both preliminary and categorical at the same program because that would be like sending mixed messages to the program about your interests.
