when exactly do we get this exam permit? 1 week ago the ecfmg said they have approved my form 186 and so the offline part is done. only the online part is left. i keep checking my status online and they say they are still waiting for a confirmation from my university. what does that mean? i have asked my lecturer to approve anything she has to to via the ECFMG-WP. she says its all done. but why is it that they are still waiting for confirmation? :toosad:

i want to book my exam date but can i do it now while it says still waiting for confirmation?:notsure:

no u cant..u ve to wait till they get papers back frm univ..then they'll process ur application. oNce it's done they'll send u a scheduling permit with a no.(0nline) ,with that u can book a date.

the offline verification takes considerably longer time than the online verification, specially in the case of EMSWP it should not take more than few days.

I suggest you call the ECFMG urgently. If you don't get a sufficient answer tell the operator thank you and hang up and then call again after a while and talk to another agent until you get a sufficient answer.

I remember that you told us that you are the first to do this in your school. There might be something clogging the approval process.

If you don't get your scheduling permit you won't be able to schedule your exam.

Take this seriously, I know someone who missed her eligibility period because her scheduling permit delayed. So work on it now.

but what's clogging up the process? the offline part already took more than a month. what more do they need? what does usmle100 mean by once they get the papers? what papers are u referring to? i tot it was all online now because the offline part is done.

yes ok. ill call them tomo. too late now the off is closed. ill call and ask them whats taking so long again n again till i get someone who can answer me.

I was actually monitoring ur threads to see if u've received ur permit.

Anyways, I would also suggest u to call them and as I've had many calls to them when I had such problems with my application, I know the names of most ECFMG service representatives on the telephone. The best representative I've found so far (although all are good) is a lady whose name is SHARON. If this lady picks up ur call then it's good, however, if somebody else picks up ur call, tell her/him to plz direct ur call to SHARON and tell them that she know about ur problems much more than any other representative. Then they will hopefully direct ur call to her and believe me she is so kind and efficient, and replies responsibly...

i'm gonna call them in a couple of hours, ill ask for Sharon. u're the best!!

i spoke to my lecturer today and it turns out as she has been overseas she forgot to update herself with my application and she hadnt approved the online part after they received my form n approved it. ...sigh.. but she did it today and ill call sharon and ask specifically, when do i get my permit??

my eligibility period starts in september but it is ok that i push so that things work out right? i mean i am meant to take this seriously arent i?

as for the prometric center, there are 2 centers near my place and since they are competitors one of the centers called me to say that they are waiting to assist me with the scheduling of exam date. i guess that part is made easier for me. just need to get my permit in order.

thank u rasheed for giving me the push to take this seriously. and thank u dr. elham for recommending sharon. it has only been a few days since my lecturer confirmed me as a student n i got my permit!! it was so beautiful..)

first thing monday ill call up the center n schedule my date. woot!!
