Hello everyone,

I'm still in first year of med school and I am supposed to take Step 1 at the end of second year, which will be Spring/Summer of 2012. That means I have to be ready for the test by then. For now, I am trying to come up with plan, and strategy for study. Any suggestion/recommendation/thought/opinion to come up with a good study is welcome and appreciated.

Thanks.

My suggestion

Here's my suggestion:
Grab Kaplan Lecture Notes and First Aid
Start reading Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry this year.
Do the related Qbook questions whenever you finish any of these subjects.
Start reading in FA parallel to what you read in Kaplan Notes.
Start hitting on Microbiology, Pharmacology, and Pathology during the second year following the same scheme above.
Allocate at least 8 weeks of full-time study before the exam date.
Start Kaplan Qbank subscription 6-9 months before the exam.
Start USMLE Consult subscription 3 months before the exam.
Start USMLE World subscription 1 month before the exam.

What medical school are you going?
Use your own lecture notes and then read FA and you should be good

I don't want to frustrate you but you should really see at least how pathology course is, before having a board test...
