Sympathetic centre in posterior hypothalamus is a/w temperature regulation and is also known as anti-fall centre.
Sympathetic supply causes shivering to prevent fall in temp and lesion in this centre of hypothalamus causes poikilothermia
Secondly PANS causes sweating to act as anti-rise centre

why in the face are the sweat glands supplied by SANS and causes anhidrosis in horner syndrome?? isnt sweating a function of parasympathetic>??

sweating is always function of sympathetic ANS
1) because sweat glands are everywhere(as sympathetic innervation everywhere)
2) In horners syndrome patient has damaged sympathetic pathway either in T1 spinal ganglion or upper by the way of sympathetic fibers

- so no sweating

so is it that PANS causes sweating by vasodilation and SANS causes sweating by direstly innervating the sweat glands??
