What is the difference between Tangentiality and Circumstantiality. I've seen these terms in psychiatry questions and I can't really understand the theme.
Circumstantiality is that the patient will shift to a related topic but eventually will answer the question at the end maybe
tangentiality is that the patient will talk irrelevant and will never answer the question....it may be due to a purpose or some psychiatric problems
flight of ideas is seen in manic patient....person jumps from one topic to the other but ther is no connection in topics
