Tip for ICE component of the CS exam

INTEGRATED CLINICAL SKILL (ICE)
This component involves the ability to of the candidate to reach to the right diagnosis by asking pertinent questions and performing adequate physical exams.

Tip for DATA GATHERING
Try to find at least one positive to reach out for the differential diagnosis that you have framed from the door way information.
SPs have been trained and then subsequently made to check a questionnaire that makes them judge what an adequate physical exam is.

An ideal physical exam is
a) head to toe general exam plus
b) disease specific exam that includes inspection, palpation, percussion and auscultation,

So TIP for those who are planning to fool the SP with their quick ineffective, just for the name sake physical exam, beware that might go against you.

'head to toe'
eyes for pallor iccterus
neck for lymphadenopathy
hands for clubbing
legs fro edema....that makes it head to toe, right , just a smart way of being quick yet exhaustive....
