Hey guys,

I took the test on the 25th of August (in China), and I have yet to receive my score. It's past the usual 3-4 week waiting period. So I'm just wondering whether I should start making some calls??

P.S. I'm still a med student.

I've read those threads, but I'm still clueless as to why it is delayed. Some people are saying that the results are withheld until ur credentials are certified, but I'm still a med student and I DON'T have any credentials to send in!
But then again, no one probably knows why the results are delayed except for the people @ ecfmg.

So I'm going to give it a few more weeks and if nothing shows up in my mailbox, let the calling begin!

It's all speculations at this point since there isn't an official statement from ecfmg stating that you need to have your credentials verified before releasing the scores.

Just out of curiosity, what time does ECFMG release the scores usually? I hate to go through the process of getting worked up every Wednesday but only to be disappointed. HATE IT!

Just an update on my situation. I just got off the phone with ecfmg staff and the rep said that a certification of identification form was sent to my school to confirm that I was still a student when I took step 1 and they are waiting for my school to send it back to them so they can release my score, hence the delay. I hope this would shed some light for anyone who's in the same/similar situation.

Another thing which got me thinking. So the ecfmg knows about my score but it's just not on OASIS, and I've read about the OASIS trick a while back, which got me thinking: since my exam should have been scored (just not released on OASIS), yet when I tried to re-apply for step 1, it let me. So does that mean I failed step 1!?!? Anyone who knows anything about it pls help me out! thanks!!

Yeah thanks for the comforting words guys, so the ecfmg needs to make sure that you're still a student both when you submit your application AND at the time of your exam. Therefore they send a verification form to my school to confirm my enrollment as a student at the time of my exam and they need to receive verification from my school so they can release my score. I hope that clears it up!
So now I've got to contact my school to see if they know anything about it.

hey jerry, i m too a student in china , i gave my test 22 oct 2010 and i m waiting for my results .. pls tell wen did u got ur resuts back and did ur scholl relpied anything regarding the delay ?if same thing happens to me when should i call ecfmg.. when do think i should wait until? thanks

Test date: Aug 25th
'Actual' score report date: Oct 27th (supposed to be Sept 15)

So as you can see, my score got delayed by about 4 to 5 weeks.

In my case my eligibility period was JUN-AUG, so the ECFMG sent a letter to my school asking for verification of my student status on June 1st. However my school never sent the letter back. Hence the delay. I think you should wait for the usual 3-4 weeks after your test (that's the usual waiting time for most step 1 scores) and if you don't get it by then, I'd contact the school first (or the person at your school who is in charge of processing the ECFMG stuff) to see if the letter has been sent out.

hey jerry.. the same thing happened to me i called ecfmg yesterday andthey told me my student verification has not been send from my school . . then i went to office and ..damn the letter was there and not replied yet.. i felt soo bad for my school. but yet i did the whole dean sign up thing and they r going to send the letter tomorrow !! thanks a lot jerry for ur post . you helped me a lot !..now i am waiting till they get the letter and give me my score !! .. thanks

hey jerryjr36, i went to my school and they send my letter of verification,and i have tracked and my letter has reached ecfmg,now i m wondering when i'll get my result.. just need ur help could u tell me after u did all the work, when did they send ur result after that ?i mean after like how many days later after ur letter reached ecfmg did they gave u ur result . sorry for disturbing u but it will be helpful to reduse my anxiety levels.thanks .

I think it was 3,4 days. But I had to call them. Sometimes they are a bit slow at processing/releasing the results. But I'd say about a week.

since you guys have been through this process please help me thru
I am a medical student & applied for step 1 after finishing of the details i came to this form 183 which i have to get verified by the medical school official.I am not sure whether i have to send some other document with this form or straight only form 183.
after i have send this form to ECFMG what will be the next procedure

Hi,

At this point you just need to complete Form 183 (get it signed by the appropriate school official) and send it back to ECFMG, once they review the form and accepts it, you will be issued with the scheduling permit. Then you can schedule your step 1 test.

hi friend, where r u located in china. i am also located in china and preparing for step 1. i took my step 2 and got a score of 99/255. was wondering, may be located in the same city.

Wow. That's some crazy score! Well done!
I'm in PUHSC, Beijing. Slowly progressing through step 2 CK!

Please guys i need your help
as per your situation i have applied to ecfmg and my form 183 has been accepted. But now what, will the ECFMG again verify your student status from your medical school at the time of declaration of results.
Nothing sort of that is written in the ECFMG BULLETIN.
This happened in your case.
Was it the case that you graduated at the time of declaration of results.

The other point which i have doubt is that in my oasis it writes that ECFMG will sent the scheduling permit to my mailing address.But in the email they wrote that they issue only electronic scheduling permits for step1,2ck which will be updated 6 month before my eligibility period.I am not sure what to do,could you recall what happened in your case

I may be sounding stupid but these stuffs are quiet confusing.

Hey there,

The ECFMG sends scheduling permits by EMAIL. You'll have to print it out and bring it on test day.

The ECFMG needs to verify that you'll still be a student at the time of your test and that you're telling the truth, so they will send a letter to your school and the registrar will need to sign and send it back! I didnt see it anywhere in the bulletin either. Just make sure you ask the registrar @ your school about the letter.

In my case I didn't know about this until I called ECFMG 5 weeks after my test, in which they told me they were still waiting for the letter.
