NSAID in uremic pericardidtis

Emedicine quoted

"Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and steroids may offer symptomatic relief but are not effective without dialysis. Indomethacin ameliorates fever, but it does not accelerate resolution of the effusion."

Yes good point. Use of NSAID in renal failure. The pain can be severe and responds to NSAID.

If you're going to proceed with HD anyway, perhaps it is OK to use it. Alternative is steroid as described above.

Hi guys !!! Uremic Pericarditis is one of the indications for dialysis and renal transplantation - this person is no longer in renal insufficiency or azotemic stage. - hence NSAIDS are acceptable the kidney can no longer be protected and the person is fully dependent on dialysis. Hope this helps
