Hi.... I have a very serious question , I have scheduled my exam on the 30th of this month. I have finished Kaplan lecture notes and goljan pathology twice. I finished kaplan q bank 85% with an aggregate score of 72%. i have read FA once almost and i am now doing with my usmleworld finished with 50% with an aggregate of 75% doing system wise unused questions timed mode. I now have have only 12 days to go and sadly my eligibility ends by the end of this month :toosad: I have'nt even revised usmle world concepts nor taken any assessments as yet......:toosad: what do you guys think i should do ..... I was aiming for a 99 but now i dont know what i should do?
- go ahead give my exams ? or,
- forfeit the step 1 exam, will it be worth it ?
what will be the consequences of forfeiting.....? How early can i re-apply if i forfeit this exam ?

I am really confused guys....... please please please help me with your suggestion.

You need some NBME scores. Bank scores do not correlate as well as NBME scores do with actual exam performance. Do and NBME online (no cheating ;) and that will help you decide...

Thanks a lot..
i am thinking of ending my U world and start off revising FA right away... will that be a good idea?
i was also thinking of taking an NBME 6 on the 22nd of this month hopefully after completing atleast 60-70% of U World. so that i can revise for 7 days.... is this better?

Your bank scores are looking good and it seems that you have put in quite a bit of work, so try not to worry too much (worry takes away time from studying!) Definitely do an online NBME as soon as possible to get a better feeling for your predicted score. It seems that most people do NBME 7 first. Keep doing your questions and FA, and you should be fine. You can do it!

Sounds like a good plan. I would maybe revise FA once before you write your NBME and since you only have 4 days till your NBME i'd start on the FA soon. Then, after you write your NBME, I'd do 8 blocks a day of UW to get used to timing. If you can squeeze in NBME 6 and 7 in your plan that would be ideal, but one NBME is better than none.

you should definitely do an online NBME and if good enough, go and take the exam! If it is way below from what you are aiming i advise you to postpone for a later date...

Hello,

Your recent Qbank scores are very strong and indicate that you will do well on the exam. (Cumulative scores will include the lower scores of your earlier tests.) And we concur with everyone else: Please consider taking an NBME self-assessment exam to predict rather closely how you will score on Step 1!

Good luck on the 30th.

I did a kaplan diagnostic yesterday night , i scored 76% it seems i still lack in Biostatistics, Behavioral science, Genetics, histology and Molecular biology(subject wise) and HEME/LYMPH, nervous and gi system wise.
The rest of the areas i have quite scored more than 70 to 75%
first block- 84% 2nd block-68% 3rd block 78%
I think i have to focus on these above topics may be...

My goal was a high 99 so i am quite in despair now..:toosad:

Why? Thats a good score... you're well on your way. I'd say there's a deviation of up to 20-25 points from your NBME score on exam day which can be either up or down... a 76% average means you are well on your way towards that 99... Don't worry. Try not to forget things and do your NBME....
