Hello all. First of all I've read the sticky guide found here, but it did not help.

1] I'm a med student who's about to apply for Step 1 exam. I completed the online part of the application, and tomorrow I planned to go get form 183 signed from the vice dean. Today I've read (by chance) that I also need to send in forms 344, 345, and 187. Is that true?

2] And, I find that those forms have a lot of info about my med school diploma and credentials, which are not out yet. Will I have to send these forms again when I graduate?

3] Finally, do I need to submit any additional photographs (besides the one stuck on form 183)?

Please advise me. I need to send the papers by tomorrow. I'm already late! :(

Thanks in advance!

Then you don't need them.

You should not worry about form 187, 186, 344, and 345, for two reasons:

First: you are still a medical student and all those forms are about graduation
Second: the online application system of the ECFMG is an interactive system, it reads your answers in the online application and accordingly presents you with the forms that you need to fill. So if they asked you to print out form 183 only then that's it, that's all what you need for now.

Ultimately, when you graduate and get your diploma you then have to do these forms in order to finish your medical education credentials verification. But for now you don't need to worry about them.

Thanks a lot, but what about this, I found it in the 344 form info page:

If you are a medical school student applying to ECFMG for an examination and
you do not have a valid Certification of Identification Form (Form 186) on file with
ECFMG or if you are required to submit a Certification Statement (Form 183), the
completed ECFMG Medical Education Credentials Submission Form (Form 344),
medical education credentials, and any other required documents must be
accompanied by an IWA Document Submission Form (Form 187) and must be sent with
your Certification of Identification Form or Certification Statement.

I found it here:

Still think you don't need it

Once again,

If they did not present it to you when you finished the online questions then they don't need it (unless you missed it online somehow).

The safest approach is to call them.

Call them next Monday and see what they say and please come back here and tell us what they told you.

Thanks for your reply,

No, they didn't present any forms other than form 183 to me after the online questions.

I think they're not needed.

Form 344 is the Medical Education Credentials Submission Form "You must submit the ECFMG Medical Education Credentials Submission Form (Form 344) when you send your medical education credentials to ECFMG."

Form 345 is the Medical School Release Request "You must submit the Medical School Release Request (Form 345) when you send your final medical diploma to ECFMG®."

I got those quotes from the actual forms. As u see, they have nothing to do with me, having applied as a student. I think I'll have to send them with my medical diploma after graduation.

I'll try to call them.

Thanks again.
