Let me share my story with you
I started preparing for Step 1 in Feb 2008
I am IMG 5 years after graduation
I finished kaplan notes and DVDs twice
First Aid once at the end
Kaplan Q bank and UW bank
NBME forms 1 and 2
I took the exam in November 2008
My score was 245/99

Now about the daily schedule
I was full time step 1 student
I wake up at 8 AM
I read continuously until 12 Noon
then one hour break
then one stretch from 1 PM to 6 PM
so total study time was 9 hours

and that's it
yet that's it
I even did not read in weekends and holidays except perhaps one month before the exam

Thank you Accuroba for sharing you step 1 study schedule
This is a typical and standard routing and plan to ace the exam and congrats for your 99 score
How's your Step 2 going?

but that would not fit into the short time two to three weeks that we medical students have for Step 1 preparation
anyone please with schedule for medical students!

Haikan am a medical student like
here's what you can do

  • Review first aid for two days ...
  • Do Kaplan systems 100 pages a day ... 75 questions at night, 75 in the morning (qbank)
  • then end up with Fist aid for two days ...
Make Kaplan notes your hub where you keep notes and references from other materials such as BRS and others

Good luck :)
