can someone please explain this question
i dont understand what does the sibling and patient having 126 bp and 124bp mean ?

and how do we know its a frameshift deletion and not a codon deletion ?

Codon deletion is deletion of 3 base pairs or bp with in multiples of 3 eg 6bp, 9bp etc. While framshift bp deletion is not in multiples of 3 eg 2bp,4bp etc. In the above question, there are 2bp deletion ie 124bp instead of 126bp. Therefore it is framshift and not codon deletion. Hope this helps.
