A 26-year-old woman comes to the emergency department 2 hours after the acute onset of fever, chest pain, and shortness of breath. Echocardiography shows diffuse hypokinesis. Which of the following is the most likely causative virus.

A- Coxsackievirus
B- Epstein-Barr virus
C- Herpes simplex virus
D- Measles virus
E- Parainfluenza virus

A) Coxsackievirus

Coxsackievirus can produce a wide variety of symptoms
1) Hand, foot, and mouth disease leading topainful red blisters in the throat and on the tongue, gums, hard palate, inside of the cheeks, and the palms of hands and soles of the feet
2) Hemorrhagic conjunctivitis
3) viral meningitis
4) encephalitis
5) myocarditis and pericarditis
