Hi everybody!

I have a friend whose husband is already in USA studying MPH through a scholarship program. She is here in our home country now and has a son of 3. Her husband was not allowed to take them with himself to US. Now she asks me that if she passes step 1 and ck, would she going to be able to take her son with herself while she go to USA for cs exam and subsequent training :notsure:? She states that if she could not take her son with herself, she is not gonna take USMLE at all.

Please share all that you know about this issue as it can change the whole story of a doctor's life. :toosad::scared:

He can bring them with F2 Visa

Since her husband is doing MPH then he must be on F1-Visa.
He then can bring them on F2 Visa with no hassle.
He can bring his legal wife and any unmarried son/daughter under the age of 21.

She cannot apply for a student visa alone because they'll ask her about her husband and she must tell them that he's in US and in that case they'll reject her application and ask her to file F2 Visa.
