i graduated from med school in 2010. after that i did 1 year of clinical internship. did a job in ophthalmology. then joined ophthalmology training in Pakistan. i left that after 7 months and then joined a government sector medical college as a demonstrator. i am working there till date. i want to do residency in USA. What are my chances if i plan to apply for match in 2017? should i go for it?

There is a lot more involved with the US medical residency process. You will need to consider getting US clinical experience, and taking your USMLE tests before applying to programs. I suggest you get familiar with the following websites before jumping in and deciding to apply:

1. ECFMG http://www.ecfmg.org/
Advocate and IMG services, your best friend. You will need to be ECFMG certified to start a residency.

2. AAMC https://www.aamc.org/
Home of ERAS, the main application website

3. USMLE http://www.usmle.org/
The exams you need to take are Step 1, Step 2 CK and Step 2 CS

4. NRMP http://www.nrmp.org/
Home of The Match after you have applied to programs.

That should give you a good start on the process.
