A- Quadratus lumborum [external rotation of the leg]
B- Iliopsoas [crosses hip joint. strong flexor of the hip]
C- Vastus Medialis [only one of the quads muscles crosses the hip - rectus femorus; the others including vastus medialis does not cross the hip]
D- Erector Spinae [it does what it says - erects the spine but doesn't cross the hip (since it's dorsal and is located in the back. to flex the hip you won't have to be ANTERIOR and CROSS the hip.]
E- Latissimus Dorsi [a superficial muscle of the back.]

B. iliopsoas
