I need your help guys here it goes

I am interested in pursuing cardiology, I am not sure the way to go to it Do we have to first complete 3 yr residency in IM then again go for CARDIOLOGY specialty Fellowship or i can straight away match for cardiology?
It may sound ridiculous but i am new to this mle stuff so please help me with this.
Like here in India we have to first complete MD in IM then go FOR specialisation in cardiology which is a 2 year program.

Thanks in Advance

It's fellowship in US

There's no Cardiology residency. You need to go to Internal Medicine residency and then you go to cardiology fellowship.
The same applies to pediatric cardiology.

If you need to do caths. You need to do an extra interventional cardiology fellowship year.
