Hi guys, i know there is already a poll about qbanks, which states that the next qbank to take would be UsmleRx.
But i want to personalize the query according to my situation, I already did all Kaplan Qbank a month ago, and I'll finish Uworld tomorrow. My exam date is August 30th. My plan is to do the UWSA1 this sunday, do the UWSA2 in the second week, the nbme 11 the third week, and nbme 12 3 days afterwards, topping it with the 150 free questions right before the exam. Since i bought the uworld subscription fot 2 months I was planning to review 3 sets of questions a day to finish the review in two weeks, and the last two weeks commit to first aid, the qbank notes, and goljan notes.
My question is do you find this to be an ok plan, or should I do another qbank, and if I should do a third qbank should I take the usmlerx or the gunner training program. I haven't done the qbook, but what I don't like about it is that it is not in random time mode....
I guess I could also try the 2 week free trial with gunner training, and do the qbook also, but i'm not so sure about it.
Well guys, what do you think?

Interesting and you sounded like you have a Plan...

First, You gotta take a NBME or UWSA ( overpredict you but give you confidence ). Depends on the Score you want to get... but something above 220 its good to go. ( 90+ )

Your plan actually sounded like mine..

I finished Qbank Kaplan 56 %
Did UW world - 71%
Doing USMLE RX 66 % ( This course is easier than the others and the question are sooo different, but in the same time, give you MORE CONFIDENCE regarding the thing you know on First AID ) i would really recommend that course because of that... we sometimes KNOW a lot, but under go in confidence....

So, Do the UWSA 1 this weekend... as soon as you pay the USMLE RX, reserve 2 HALF simulations and 1 FULL. Then go back to Unused/ timed/random for about 20% of RX.. Check your Weak Areas/ Subject and go with USMLE RX by Subject and then when you finish it... ( the weak areas ) go back to Unused/random/timed ... In that way you will REVIEWD 2 times the weak areas...

For example... That's why i've been doing.. and my score have improve a lot.. on those area, for example, Renal/physiology i ended at 40-50 on UW i ended here around 70....

Remember NEVER Stop reading FA.. as doctor Goljan said.. " the more you read, the higher your score!!! "

When you get things back to normal, reading FA in the morning and Doing 2 - 3 USMLE RX test should be fine for a day... and as you close your GAP to the Real day... you should be reading FA by 4-5 ( which means 95-100 pages per day ) sound like tooo much but that's my plan.. right now im reading FA by 6 days... i feel awesome..

i recommend NBME 7-6-3-11-12 .. do it as you want... but keep in mind to do at least 2 NBME and the FREE 150 as you said... ( 80+ on free YOU ARE GOOD to go ) ...

IM NOT a specialist on this... but im just like you.. and i just told you my plan... =) Seems like a good one... i will end this as you maybe by End of Ausgust... i will be taking the exam... so Cant tell you if it going to work, but pretty sure that it will pay off.....

I will be taking my NBME by next week ( 12 or 11 ) dont know yet...

Hope this help you!!!

Thanks

Thanks rulz, i was planning to do NBME 7, but a friend who just finished the exam said he did NBME 6 a month before his exam, and scored 207, which really frustrated him. He even thought about changing his exam date, but a week afterwards he started doing the uswa1,2 and the nbme 11 and 12, and he scored around 247 consistently....40 points upgrade!!! He is somebody I really trust so I take his word.
What I take from his experience is that nbmes haven't changed too much, but our input on what is high yield or what has to be learn has, so I'll stick to the latest NBMEs. Although I browsed nbme 3 the other day, just for curiosity, I was surprised to find some questions that were almost the same as the qbanks.
I agree that the goal is to study first aid in 5 days by the end of our study plan days, and I think is possible.
Well, I guess I'll know where I stand on sunday. Keep it up.

You got it right!! Exactly and NBME 6 is tough but doable... i know it underpredictive but lately people haven been getting same score on the exam... I will advise you to take ( if u have to take 2 ) take 11 or 12 and 7... Your choice... that's what i will do.

and i really recomend Usmle RX and some friends from this forums Gunningtraining. Depends on your goal... I took Usmle RX because from friends who scored 99+ told me to go for USMLE RX.

Looks like your plan is a good one, keep in touch btw, how's ur percentile at wolrd and kaplan?

I finished kaplan qbank with 62%, it was my first, and I'll finish uworld with a 67%. I guess the real accuracy will be gain with the nbmes.
I found that kaplan qbank throws more "i have never read that before questions" and are more straight recall type. Uworld is more tricky, tests your knowledge on concepts, I think that's why it has more fans. Once you get the grip, and start thinking how they are trying to trick you, you start scoring higher (if you know the concept). But it really trained me to REALLY read the questions. And definitely once you have gain concepts first aid becomes gold, at first i saw it like a really simple book, but now it is "my precious".

Exactly, In fact Qbank Kaplan is tougher than UW... =) For example 55-56 % in kaplan is = to 60 in UWorld.
