Hypo and heart

First of all , the transudate is a 2ndary feature of the disease and has nothing to do with thyroid hormone in itself . BUT , reduced t3/t4--> Reduced b1 receptors on heart --> Reduced Contractility --> Reduced CO . Combine that with any degree of HF due to other causes and you get backup of blood to pulmonary circulation --> Transudation! It's just like giving Verapamil to a CHF patient
