I noticed that most of my friends have scored higher in their CK exam than in their Step 1 exam.

So in this thread let's see if that has happened with you also. Let's call it the Step 2 CK - Step 1 Gradient. Which means how many score points your Step 2 CK score was higher than your Step 1?

The formula is
USMLE Step 2 CK Score - USMLE Step 1 Score (three digit scores for both)

For example if you scored 212 in Step 1 and then scored 222 in CK then your gradient is +10. Or if you scored 192 in step 1 and 190 in CK then your gradient is -2.

What is the benefit?
Well, if we can get an average gradient from our members we can then come up with a magic number that can predict your next exam no matter which one you take first. Like if we concluded that the average gradient range is (+11 to +20) for example then when you take 200 in Step 1 you can then expect your CK score to be 211-220 even before you take the exam. It works the other way round also (i.e. always predicting your next exam from your first exam no matter which exam you take first).

So let's start...

Thanks for another useful poll.

As per our other posts that indicate a truth that if one takes Step 1 before CK it will greatly increase the chance of getting higher score in CK, therefore I think the reverse does not work i.e., if one takes CK before Step 1 it would not have any considerable impact on Step 1 score as taking Step 1 first will not help for CK.

It's my idea and I don't mean to confront to ur idea:notsure:. Let me know what's ur and our other member's idea about my suggest.

Thanks for the nice comment.
Let me make myself clear again. I did not mean that if you take CK first then your next Step 1 exam will be of higher score. The formula is the same (CK - Step 1) no matter which exam you take first. It's always your CK score higher than your step 1 score (and that's materialized so far with the poll above).

On the other hand, yes I agree with you. Taking Step 1 first will elementally enhance your CK prep and score.

Mine was unexpected since
i was expecting higher based on
practice assessments
but it was 1 point lower than my step 1
still 230+ though, good enough for me!
