Default Medical school bureaucracy and electives

Hello guys, I am a last year medical school about to graduate from Brazil. My graduation will happen at the end of January, which should allow me to complete an elective in January I guess. However my classes finish mid December and we have a weird elective structure here in which all our electives count as 1 course.

After trying to gain authorization for an extra elective, I have discovered no one can authorize me to do this for academic credit (it won't me mentioned in my transcripts) (although it is more likely that my dean doesn't really care and is not going to be helpful at all) . However, I believe the dean would still write me something like this:

Parcus will be a last year medical student until the end of January, he has completed bla bla bla, good standing, etc.

But he won't be able to say that I am authorized to do so or that I will receive academic credit for the elective. Maybe he will even go out of his way to explicitly mention this in the deans letter.

I would like to apply for Mayo Clinic and they don't mention it needs to count as academic credit (only that I must be a last year medical student, etc). Has anyone been in a similar situation? Do you believe Mayo Clinic will refuse my elective request because of this?
