Default Weill Cornell, UAB & FIU electives

Hey there, i'm a medical student from Jordan looking for an elective course in 2017. I still didn't take my step one exam & my university isn't affiliated with any hospitals/universities in USA. so my choices were limited !
I want to specialize in adult neurology in the near future, so i want to apply for a neurology elective.

I was thinking about, Weill Cornell, University of Alabama, & FIU. (my top choices).
From what i heard, Weill cornell is the greatest out of the three, but i dont know if they would accept me (if friendly or not ?) and its only pediatric neurology for International medical students.

UAB i have no idea if its good or not, and if they are friendly or not ?!

But whenever i mention FIU, people tell me keep it as a last resort ? why is that ? what makes it worse than the others ? Im afraid to listen to people, and not get accepted anywhere ...

some people would tell me apply for both, Weill cornell and FIU, but weill cornell replies 2 months prior to the elective date, and FIU i dont know when ! what if FIU replied earlier and i had to pay for FIU the whole amount of money before cornell replies.

Any advice/help is appreciated !

Hey.
I am in the exact same situation. International who wants Neurology. And no step 1.
I had 3 free months for electives (May, June, July)

I applied to NIH, FIU and Weill.

Weill - no response yet! I applied for May for Pediatrics Neurology.
NIH - got Neurology, for June. No app or tuition fee. I'ts a nice option!
FIU - got Internal Medicine (my 2nd choice), for July. I heard the same rumors you did, but it's better to have FIU than not having anything!!! I couldn't get Neurology (IDK why!). My advice: you better apply soon, as they are placing very very early. They also reply very quickly, so you most likely will get a response before Weill. I applied 1week ago and just got it. You have 10days to pay. I know they give some money back if you cancel early (imagine you get Weill instead). But I didn't full understand their cancellation policy.

UAB - I almost applied. Ended up not though, because of the dates.

I can't advise you much more than this. Just sharing my experience.

Default Weil cornell medicine electives

I'm a medical student from Kerala, India. I am planning to do an elective at Weill cornell medicine in the month of Jan 2020. I'm currently an intern at my medical school and will graduate in April 2020. Am I eligible for the program ? Any suggestions ?
