It will be based on the programs you are applying for, because some programs requires Step scores and some programs doesn't require step scores. You need to look at the program requirements and need to apply.

Default Step 1 and USCE

Hi Nithish,
It depends on what your purpose is. If you want to get exposure to the US system before you invest in preparing for the USMLE, then definitely do a rotation. It will add to your portfolio of experience although you probably will not be able to use the LOR because by the time you finish the process, it may be too old.
If you want a CV-building experience for your home country, then yes, definitely do it. We have had many clients over the years who do this.
If your intention is to go through the entire process, you may want to wait to see what your Step 1 score is and then make the decision whether to proceed or not.
If you would like to talk about this further, don't hesitate to contact us. You can send us an email directly through our website at chicagoclerkships.com.

Sincerely,
Lori Winther
