Question M protein spike in Multiple Myeloma, is it IgM or IgG!

Hey guys,
Found it in first aid 2011 step 1 mentioned tat the M protein spike (γ band )in electrophoresis in multiple myeloma is Ig M type. Is it an error or is it correct? I remember tat IgM is M spike in waldenstrom macroglobulinemia. (IgM being the macroglobulin)is there an errata in which it is corrected?

In theory, multiple myeloma can produce all classes of immunoglobulin, but IgG paraproteins are most common, followed by IgA and IgM.

IgM is more closely associated with Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia

I've shadowed in a Multiple Myeloma clinic and virtually all of them had an IgG kappa light chain monoclonal spike

Just remember not to confuse M spike with IgM!

I just checked FA (p 358)

M spike IgG (55%) or IgA (25%) = MM
M spike IgM = WM

and then...
Multiple Myeloma:
Monoclonal M protein spike = IgM

Itīs a typo!!!!!!!!
