Hi everyone, Im Jyo from India and I would like to share my step 1 experience with you all. I gave my exam on sept 3 and got my results on sep 24th. My score is 239 and i have to admit that I was aiming for a 240. So I was a litttle disappointed with that.
People close to me have told me that I still hav chances so Im gonna do a better preparation for step 2 ck
My Exam was extremely difficult and trust me they dont use classical presentations of the disease anymore. For me, the time management in each block became difficult after the third block. So I think those who are giving the exam should focus more on solving more questions on a timed basis. Its all bout questions and less about the knowledge now.
I made some obvious mistakes which I regret even today. So please make sure you read and revise a lot. First aid is everything! and Dit videos were quite useful in the end. Uworld and the real exam are quite different so exam takers dont be fooled by a high score in uworld. the nbmes are closest to the real exam. To be even more precise, nbme 16 was quite predictive for me where I scored a 243.
Its very very important to have a proper study scehdule with a lot of breaks in between. Never ever exhaust urself and have too many burn outs. I took over a year to prepare and still it was not adequate. Im a final yr student so it was a big challenge for me to read everything. Do know bout the new topics OUTSIDE of first aid tat is being increasingly tested in recent step 1 exams like urinary incontinence and its types.
Any questions, please ask me I would love to help. Though my score aint great I do know a lot bout what you should not do while u prepare. I dont want others to repeat my petty mistakes
