What are your thoughts on sketchy micro (the drawings and videos) to learn microbiology? Has anyone used it? And if so, how good is it and should it be good for the USMLE step 1? Please share your opinions.

Micro was one of my weakest topics. I read through clinical microbiology made simple, sketchy micro, usmle simple, and picmonic. I found that using the book clinical microbiology made rediculouly simple and usmle simple was the best resource. I annotated my FA as I went through the usmle simple lectures.

I see, so have you taken your step 1?

Ya. I took it abt 2 weeks ago. I was averaging about 250s on my last 2 NBMEs and uworld exam so feeling good. But ya, check it out, it's pretty cheap and maybe you will like it.

AMAZING! I've used them for my ID module and now I'm reviewing them for step 1. My class (I will say about 60% of them) used sketchymicro...I asked sketchy micro for a class discount and they gave us a 25% off!!! so needless to say, it was money well spent.
My classmate (ex-boyfriend) just took his step1 exam on Friday and he said that after every microbe question he said to himself "thank you sketchymicro". They are called sketchymedical now since they added the virus, fungi, and parasite videos and are working on "sketchypharm"

USMLE-Simple is awesome for microbiology. Sketchy micro is also good, but they don't list the high yield points for me to see. They quickly come and go and that's not for me. I think USMLE-Simple is the way to go for micro.
