Hi all,
Please I'd appreciate it if anyone know's if the Kaplan full length Simulation tests are valid predictors of the actual USMLE scores. I did the first one and got 70% and would like to know what that would translate to on the actual exam. Anyone who has done it recently or knows should please comment. Many thanks! I did it 4-5 months from the exam, and scored 75% in both, and then went on to score 256 on the real exam. 75% correlates to 240-250 range. If you want your real assessment then give a NBME. 70% will correlate to 220-230 zone. |

npktun what resources did you use between taking the Kaplan Simulation test and your actual USMLE Step 1 exam?
I mean during the 4-5 months in between. Thanks for your reply. |

Had started another thread on this with no replies:
Here are my Kaplan Simulation Exam 2 results: Block 1: 39/46 Block 2: 41/46 Block 3: 39/46 Block 4: 38/46 Block 5: 41/46 Block 6: 44/46 Block 7: 39/46 Total: 281/322=87.3% NBME 3: 179/200 NBME 1: 185/200 NBME 2: 188/200 NBME 4: 192/200 NBME 6: 189/200 NBME 7: 191/200 NBME 5: 196/200 (All of these are done offline as they are not available online anymore. Score +/- 3 (maybe) as some of the answers are still doubtful (crosschecked with 3 or 4 answer keys available). I'm not too sure about the predictability of offline NBME though. I just used them as 1400 extra questions to learn from. Will be doing online tests starting next week. Exam in just under 2 months) |
