usmle registration process puzzle please help

dear doctors and medical students,can anybody tell me that is it necessary to have your medical credentials verified to get sechduling permit for usmle steps? is it necessary to have your form 186 valid before we can request for extension of our eligibility period? is it necessary to have your medical credentials verified before we can request for extension of our eligibility period? Please tell me explain help I am confused people has different opinions about these questions

why don't u just call and ask ECFMG about this?
as i know they are glad to answer to any kind of questions. gl

I suggest you read carefully the booklet, because is all there. first you have to get your ecfmg id. you also have to deliver some other documents besides your i-186 form. fom 345, and a photocopy of your medical school diploma for example.
there are at least 3 different i-186 forms. you have to choose the right one for you. its a long, complicated process. i suggest you download and read carefully the booklet and call ecfmg to solve any doubts.

i know it might sound funny, but by Medical Diploma do we mean MBBS certificate, Provisional Certificate or Graduation Certificate, and what if we are not issued Graduation Certificate from our University..
