Hey guys... I'm planing to do Taus method... I was checking it last day but there is one thing that I can't understand:
How to do the "microbiology" part? I do not understand when is it that I have to start writing the notes because some bugs are going to keep repeating through all of the "major systems".
Can anyone share the personal experience???
Any point of view or advices are more than welcome...
i don't know about the method & hope the members can help you.
But would u please post the method u r talking about , i really need a way to study micro for step 1. Thnx
everything that you think needs explanation in fa should be further approached in other review books and added back to FA.
Make notes from day 1 to it.
That at least what I do.
FA is your "check list"
Just do the bugs in FA... sometimes you might not understand FA, so go though Micro made simple or kaplan to make sure you get it.
If you have time read micro made easy, that way you could skip the kaplan videos. The other approach is doing what Taus says, but make sure you write everything from UW also to the FA. If you memorize your FA you are gold for the exam, don't forget to memorize those Gram + - diagrams there. DIT go through micro but it's not that good, so make sure you study it on your own before that.
I think TAUS means primary material --> FA on the first pass of micro. Then, the major bugs will be reinforced from other materials as you go along since they will be repeated in the pathophysiology of diseases.
Personally, I probably won't break up micro into systems. I'll just separate the generalities and genetics section. The rest I'll study with some pharma. It's a bit difficult to "categorize" the bugs into the major systems bec. most of them cause diseases in different ones (i.e. Staph -> skel, cardio, etc).
Thank you guys... actually, this would be my second time reading CMMRS (I didn't read Kaplan nor did the videos). First time reading CMMRS was a couple of months ago, during that time I highlighted all the important stuff, but I didn't make any notes on FA
This time, I'm thinking in just read what I've already highlighted (I think that that way will be faster :sorry::sorry::sorry::sorry and then write just the most important "FA missing parts" out of what I've already highlighted. I just wasn't clear in how to do so.... but now I am... thank you very much!!!
Is so nice to know that you are out there...
Thank you for your help...
