Cancer cell recover vs normal cell recovery

Hi,

I have read that cancel recovery is worse than normal cell recovery.

Thus fractionation in radiotherapy allows normal cells to recover from the radiation damage but doesn’t give enough time for cancer cells to recover.

However does anyone know/can guess why this is the case (ie the physiology behind it)?

Thanks in advance
