What is the Doctors In Training USMLE Step 1 Review?
If you are currently attending medical school, the DoctorsInTraining USMLE Step 1 Review will not only help you study for the USMLE, but it will also help you study for the course you are currently in! The course consists of 75 hours of high-yield lectures divided over a 15 day time frame. Dr. Jenkins will conduct all of the teaching sessions, and the reference text for the sessions will be First Aid for the USMLE Step 1, 2009 ed. This part of the course is designed to help you review high- yield USMLE information in a manner that will make it easy for you to remember on the actual test day. Since you will have already learned most of the topics covered, the sessions will be fast-paced and mentally stimulating for a more powerful review. Emphasis will be placed on active learning and on making the information more easily digestible so that it will be easier to relearn and remember on the test day. Additional emphasis will be placed on making vital connections between topics as well as continual review of the information so as to cement them in your mind. Difficult topics will be explained thoroughly in a fashion that is organized and easy to understand.
Why is First Aid for the USMLE Step 1 used as the text?
This book is used as the text because it is your "cheat-sheet for the USMLE." The material in this book is composed from students that have remembered their test questions. If you know all of the material in this book, and if you can answer any question that someone asks you from this book, then you will do very well on the boards.
Why Doctors In Training for USMLE Step 1 Review?
Students that take this course can expect to considerably increase their USMLE Step 1 score no matter what knowledge level you are starting from. Doctors In Training knows EXACTLY what you need to know for the USMLE Step 1 and will make sure your know it! How else are you going to know what is high-yield for this exam? You can spend weeks reviewing low-yield information from your first two years of medical school or from another commercial review course and end up doing poorly on the exam. You need to relearn only what is high-yield for this test, and you need to learn it efficiently! Review books are helpful, but they can only take you so far. This review course will fill-in the high-yield gaps that review books fail to recognize. You have very much to gain by trying the course and very little to lose.
Here is what some students have to say about DIT USMLE Step 1 Review:
"It was a comprehensive course that helped pull together all the ideas in First Aid. It was a key part of my study routine, I only wish I knew about it sooner so I could have taken advantage of all the viewing sessions multiple times."- Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Class of 2011
"The Step 1 online course is definitely high-yield and very beneficial. The course provides structure and focuses on the important information rather than making you spend hours searching through other resources."- Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Class of 2011
"This class was amazing. It kept me on a very fast-paced track. The instructor really unserstands the Boards. I will be using his class for Step 2 and beyond!"- Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine, Class of 2011
"The program really helped me to concentrate on the important things on the exam. There were several questions that I had on the test that seemed as if they were directly from First Aid or the DIT Notes. I won't take Step 2 without the DIT Course."- Ohio University College of Medicine, Class of 2011
"It was very helpful, especially in learning how to use FA."- Southern Illinois School of Medicine, Class of 2011
"DIT helped me stay on track with my studying. I was able to study over 70 hours a week for 6 weeks because I had a plan set out by the course. That would have never happend studying on my own."- University of Minnesota Medical School, Class of 2011
"Take it! Repetition and additives are extremely helpful!"- University of Toledo College of Medicine, Class of 2011
"This is a great review course and will get you to where you need to go. It will get you to the highest point you can get to whatever that may be."- University of Toledo College of Medicine, Class of 2011 ~~~~~There are thousands more testimonials just like these!
The average USMLE Step 1 score for our students in 2009 was 237!
How do I score above 230 on the USMLE?
There is a definite formula for doing well on the USMLE, and here it is:
1. Go through First Aid for the USMLE Step 1 three times (DoctorsInTraining.com will help you do this)
2. Take the 15-day DoctorsInTraining.com USMLE Step 1 Review
3. Start reviewing material at least 3 months prior to your test (Jan or Feb for May-June test takers)
3. Complete at least 2000 questions from Kaplan Q-bank or USMLEWorld.com
4. Read BRS Pathology and BRS Physiology
5. Review the first 7 chapters of Robbins Pathology
