Neuro External Capsule?

Hey, we all know about the internal capsule with it's anterior and posterior limbs and others
If there's an internal capsule then there must be an external one right?
Where is it, what does it do?

The external capsule like the internal capsule is a band of myelinated fibers projecting between the cortex and subcortical structures.

However, unlike the internal capsule it's very thin and lesions produce minimal effects and therefore, it's not commonly tested in USMLE.

However, if you insist have a look at this image

It's located between the globus pallidus and the claustrum

So Far as I know External Capsule is located betwenn N.lentiformis ( i.e. Putamen (not gl.Pallidum)) and Claustrum.
