Step 1 score 219/81. please suggest

Hi friends.I am an IMG from pakistan(lahore).I got my scores last week(23 may). I got a score of 219/81. I am very much disappointed with the scores. Actually I didnt expect such a score because
I got 236 in the NBME-12(2weeks before exam).
244 in NBME 11 1 day before exam

I am totally confused about what to do now.
Should I continue with my step 2 preperation?

or shall i stop preparing for step 2 and prepare for pakistan exams.?

Except psychiatry nd family medicine, I am interested in any subject..What would be the scope for me if i proceed with the preperation.Kindly advise me.I need ur valuable sugesstions.

Hey there, i dont think that is a bad score at all. I dont see any reason for u to give up. U should work hard for CK and u'l b on the right track.

but its so surprising to ee the difference between ur NBME scores n the real exam.! may be u got really nervous and messed up some questions u knew the answers to. well wats done is done, n ur nt in a bad situation i believe. so be strong and go ahead with the CK!

plus can u share with us ur study/exam experience? books u used, qbanks, any other nbmes? etc? thanks

Hey. Had you seen the NBME questions before also? There seems to be no correlation at all between your NBME scores and the Step 1 score.

Get some USCE, great LORs, research experience and do great on CS and CK. Then I'm sure you'll have a really good chance at matching!

Btw I'm also from Pakistan (Islamabad). Which college are you from?

Your score is good. You'll still match.

Definitely, proceed with the steps. You'll do great in step 2. It's easier than step 1.

Why do you think your score is too far from the nbmes? Did you do them offline? Or you didn't sleep well the night before?

I did all the NBMEs online. Actually my actual exam was very lengthy.I could not complete any block on time.For some of the biostatistics questions, tears rolled in my eyes.They were such lengthy.Biochemistry questions were many.very few pathology questions.

Compared to my actual exam, I felt those 2 NBMEs which i took, to be very easy and i could complete them comfortably before time and there was time to recheck a few questions.

That's tough! And to think nbme 11 already has very loooong stems. Don't worry... You did your best. That's what matters. There are things that are out of our control. We need to let go at some point.

Thank you.I would definitely start preparing for further steps. but i am a bit tensed if my step 1 score would be a red flag always.

thats still a good score.

U should have taken either nbme 7 or 13.

Nbme 11 , and 12 are easier compared to those.

thats why u got such a high score on 11 and 12.

If i can take 3 NBMEs online, do u recommend 7,13 and the third to be 11 or 12? The fourth will be done offline. So in other words, which one of the four shall i do offline (7, 11,12,13)?

Congrats! That is a good score, within the national average for AMG's. There is nothing you should be ashamed about!
