Hello,
I am an american citizen and i have just completed my medical school in India. I was about to start my process for scheduling my USMLE step 1. When i tried to register in the ECFMG site, it was asking for my SSN however it was not mandatory and it said "(if applicable)". so is it important i must provide it or is it not mandatory? I mean is it going to show up on my scheduling permit later as a means of identification? I don't feel so comfortable providing it because i heard in many cases the ssn was misused. Please do guide me in the proper direction. Thank you |
