Renaissance 06-24-2012 10:21 AM

You moved up 16 points not 6 points
UWSA over-predicts
NBME's are the real deal

DefeatTheBeast 06-24-2012 10:42 AM

Nice jump! As renaissance said uswa overpredictits by about 10-15 points...you got two months left to bring it up to 240 +, you're doing great....lol i need to hope i get a similar bump in a couple of weeks

drssbaz 06-24-2012 09:03 PM

@Renaissance @DefeatTheBeast Thank you guys for the morale boost. I was feeling in such dumps. :)

@DefeatTheBeast Good luck Bro!

Haven't you done a single read of FA yet? 1st read was really time consuming for me.
How much are you scoring on UW? Have you done Kaplan Qbank?
Anyways keep up with your schedule here. Will be good to share with someone.
Good luck!

587964 06-25-2012 06:17 AM

Hmm I haven't done FA. I only plan to do FA once, just to annotate any extra points to my Kaplan notes and goljan.
I didn't do Kaplan QB. Only doing uworld subject wise timed. I scored 82% with patho and pathophys remaining to answer.

Update Day 1 & 2

Today:
Running behind by 1 day coz couldn't do or review UW or Kbank due to absent net link. Wasted lot of time trying to bring it back on. Now it's too late to do anything.
Finished CNS Pharm but not touched Antimicrobials or Drugs for Inflammation as planned.

Tomorrow:
Cover backlog of reading.
1 block UW & KBank + review.

Bought Net Connection from two sources now. Hopefully this day won't repeat itself! I should be given a residency just for the amount of money I waste on my prep .

Now I'm :sleepy:

@smanthrav How much time have you kept aside for FA?

drssbaz 06-27-2012 09:56 AM

Update Day 3

Today:
Done with blocks of Kbank & UW with review.
Try to finish Antimicrobials before sleeping. It's 28pgs & there's 3hrs before sleeping time.

All in all, not such a bad day.

Tomorrow:
1 block UW & Kbank with review
Finish drugs in Inflammation. (28pgs) + review Qs of the chapter.
If time permits: Start Endo pharm.

I'm trying my best to cover the backlog. Not succeeding yet but once I finish these Qbanks I can sit & concentrate on just reading for about 15days before I pick them up again in Aug for review.

Have been yawning all evening for no reason! I'm not feeling so well. Had chills for the last two nights. Haven't eaten outside in a long time yet I feel sick to my stomach  . Oh God I don't want to fall ill now :sorry:. Hope it passes by tomorrow :sorry:.

Time to start reading before I start feeling sleepy again!

Update day 04 -10

For some unknown reason this forum was not accessible in my country !

So this is what I did:
Finished 82% of UW & 77% of KBank and then stopped 3 days back because my scores started to slip down.
Took NBME 1 offline yesterday. Got 162/200 (it's too old form & simple) = 223. 2 points below 2 weeks ago. I thought I had 158 but then I got this modified Answer Key & it came to 163/200 (225) for my previous offline NBME 5 offline.
Finished 2nd Read of Pharm and doing worse on Pharm questions than ever before .
Started reading Path & done till Liver Pathology from KLN. After doing UW, I realize how deficient the book is but FA & notes from UW cover for it.

What next:
Finish reading Path by 07/07. There is no point spending more time on it.
Take NBME 3 offline on 08/07.
Start Physio on 09/07.
Suspended UW till I finish the read of Physio.

Still need to review the awful blocks of UW & KBank where I got 54% but I'm done for the day! :sleepy:

It had short & pretty straightforward questions unlike the 2 and 3 tiered questions we have in Qbanks.

drssbaz 07-04-2012 08:49 PM

@numbndumb I thought I had the offline NBME 11 but when I tried to attach it for you I realized it was only two different files with answers and explanations :( . So now I'm also looking. I plan to do it online next week but I also need the offline version to do after that and check for mistakes.

drssbaz 07-05-2012 08:52 PM

Update day 11

Done with:
CNS and Lymph path.
Reviewed 1 block of UW.

Target Day 12:
Reprod, Endocrine and Bone Path.
Possibly Review 1 more block of UW.

It's just over 6 weeks to go and the numbness doesn't leave me. I wish I were just a little anxious at this stage.

Great!
Can you PM it to me too, please?

drssbaz 07-06-2012 11:23 AM

Update day 12

Today:
Finished Path reading.
No reviews or Qbanks today. Just reading.

Tomorrow:
Start Physio, see how much time it takes & make schedule for the next few days.
Almost 6 weeks to go & I've still to finish 2nd read of Physio, Anat, Neuro, Immuno, Bchem, Beh Science and FA.:toosad:. Need minimum 40 days to do that!
Plus 16% of UW & 21% of Kbank is still left to do! Need 12 days minimum for that! :scared:
Plus not done single online NBME yet. :indifferent:
Was planning to do DIT from next Sunday, Do I chuck that? :notsure:

Clearly I might have to push my exam date forward! I think I should do that now & save the money!

drssbaz 07-07-2012 11:33 AM

Update Day 13

Done today:
Physio KLN till Skeletal Muscle Mechanics.

Tomorrow:
Will take a diagnostic test of Kaplan to kill time because I don't feel like studying tomorrow. :sleepy:
I'll give a 1 hour trial to DIT to see how much can be covered hourly.
Then I'll post a tentative schedule for next 6 weeks. Considering the short time left, I shouldn't keep starting new threads.

Consolidation is the key now. :indifferent:
Methinks, if I delay this exam any more I may not be able to give it from sheer boredom of the preparation. :))

Still an hour before I hit the sack so I'll try to review those blocks I've been procrastinating for a week, at least one anyways.

drssbaz 07-08-2012 10:51 AM

Update day 14

I took the whole day off! Sort of!
Just gave a trial run of DIT. I got bored in 20min but now I have some idea how much time it will take.
It will be 6 weeks from tomorrow considering I have unavoidable travel & commitments in between that will take >1 week.
So I have worked out a hopeful schedule which is posted here:
http://www.usmle-forums.com/usmle-st...-weeks-go.html
That will be my final schedule thread unless I crowd it too much & am forced to start new one. :p. I'll keep updating it on the way.

Now :sleepy:!
To start a new day tomorrow.
