Angry Confusion regarding hypertension Rx

Hey All!

I am confused regarding the indications or usage for the following drugs for hypertension. What are some key indications to use each of them. I tend to get confused

Clonidine
Hydralazine
Nifedipine
Nitroglycerin
Nitroprusside
ACE inhibitors
B-blockers

Default BP

Use FA as your guide . More details in Kaplan's notes .
All can be used in bringing BP down except nitroglycerine . Thats used as IVI rx in MI/angina. Also there are better choices than nitrogly to bring dowmn bp . Usually its Ace , diuretics , CCB and then the rest . Ace is more useful in caucasians and CCB is more the first line in blacks and non- caucasians
