Default Medullary sponge kidney vs Medullary cystic disease

Both can present with kidney stones. Aside from the fact Medullary CYSTIC is Autosomal Dominant, has a pretty bad prognosis, and kidneys are usually shrunken, is there any other differenes between the two?

Medullary Cystic disease, in other words cysts formation in the medullary can be seen with diseases such as
Adult Polycystic Kidney Disease - AD inheritance with cysts also seen in pancreas, liver, spleen - presents in early 20s
Juvenile Polycystic Kidney Disease - AR inheritance with cysts in liver
(note both disease stated above occurs bilaterally; as opposed to Dysplatic which is unilateral)

Whereas Medullary Sponge Kidney
is also a cystic disease but you can differentiate with the following:
1. no inheritance as you stated
2. cysts are localized just to the medullary with "Swiss-cheese" appearance
3. MC discovered by IVP (intravenous pyelogram)
