wat is the exact location of area postrema? is it hypothalamus or posterior aspect of medulla?

Dorsal surface of Medulla CTZ (chemoreceptor trigger zone) . Uworld Q 1741, very nice MRI you can look at.

Yeah....it's actually in the dorsal surface of the medulla......just around the fourth ventricle which is the only portion of the CNS devoid of blood brain barrier.......as in this portion CTZ is situated so any chemical stimuli can easily trigger the zone resulting in vomiting. You can get a good view of that in Netter's atlas of Human Anatomy---
