Question USMLE Exam has Experimental Questions

I have heard...and not sure if its true, but I have heard that the USMLE Step 1 exam has about 50 experimental questions. I'm not too sure if that is true. How can one make out which ones are experimental? If there are 50 q's, I think it will be beneficial for the test taker.

Arrow Yes, there are experimental questions

Yes, the exam has experimental questions that are not counted toward your score.

Nobody knows what are these questions and nobody knows how many per exam but most rumors say about one block.

Experts think that if you face a question that is outstandingly difficult to answer and looking very awkward then just choose any option and move on because it's highly likely that's an experimental question.
