pathoma vs 250+

If the usmle step 1 students depend on pathoma book + FA 2013 for pathology can they score 250+ without difficulty ?

I did pathoma and FA, I didn't really use goljan.

I got 250+, but I won't attribute it just to Pathoma (it does help tremendously for Path [which were like almost half of the exam]), I also found Kaplan Video Lectures to be really useful and of course UWorld.

There is no instant success for us IMG. Build knowledge using Kaplan, strethen path using Pathoma, drill with UWorld questions and review with first aid.

Scoring 250 is not just about the resources ....it depends upon
  • the test taking skills
  • doing as much as questions
  • your previous history ....stuff you remember or not from your med school
  • personal ability
  • choosing the right resources that are realistic for the amount of time you have
  • luck
  • determination to achieve and hardwork
  • keeping away from the distractions
  • taking max out of these resources

you will see people who have scored low when they did just goljan alone and then you will see who have scored in the high 250s by doing just pathoma alone .... also i have seen people scoring above 250 just by reading KAPLAN notes ....

so score has lot to do than just choosing the best popular resources ....

Ur research findings are perfect. This is a witness to that.
Thanks!

a better question will be , If I am a good test taker, and I could retain every word in pathoma , first aid , and uworld .. can I get all patho questions right ( or lets say > 95 % ) , I mean will I see questions that I will not answer because THE INFO is not there in pathoma ?? My aim is > 250 and I am afraid from the fact that I used pathoma

pathoma sucks

Pathoma is crap. study goljan. I did pathoma first and could not answer uworld questions. Pathoma doesnt have depth required for step 1. You can quickly get this idea by doing nbme 16. İf you know goljan pretty well i am sure that someone can easily get 250+.

Pathoma is amazing and its only 200 pages . In my opinion , pathoma + uworld should be sufficient (with additional points from FA) . I managed to score a 249 with these resources . Never touched kaplan pathology .

As I was adviced for a 250 you have to go with Pathoma and Goljan audio at least.
