66% in Second Round of UW

Hello everyone, i have been studying for usmle step1 for long, did kaplan once and FA thrice, recently i finished

1st) go of u-world with cumulative percentage of 56% and in last several blocks i was getting anywhere between 60 to 70%
2nd) go of u world with cumulative percentage of 66% i was getting 70 to 80% regularly after 25 odd test.
But when i gave nbme 15 i scored 179 (320) three digit score don't know what went wrong
i have exam on 22 October pls suggest what should i do?

do another nbme to confirm then postpone do Uw whole again, DIT, FA, and Goljan.

thanks for your quick reply but does my cummulative 66% suggest that i can get any where between 230 to 240??

Don't ever be fooled by how those correlation tables make you perceive your qbanks scores. For example having redone UW will simply inflate your score, some ppl have 85%+ on their 2nd take, does that mean they all get 270++?


In reality the only thing that can tell you the truth are the NBMEs, and if any of them tell you you're not ready, well you're simply not ready. Definitely aim for at least a passing grade on NBME.

What I suggest to you now is as others have said, do another NBME to make sure you know where you stand. Afterwards, its time to let go of UWORLD for a bit and start really getting a handle on the information contained in First Aid by either doing DIT or USMLE RX or simply reading it while understanding each part. Doing that will most likely give you an increase in your future NBMEs.

Thanks for the reply, well its not just the percentage i had self belief that i could at least get 220 but it's all in vain. i think i should give nbme after one week lets c what i get then.
