Got 89 212 what are my chances???

I got the same score, 212(89).. my predicted score was suppose to be a 224-240 butttttttt i got "no" sleep before my exammm sooo a 12 point loss was understandable.

your chances are fine dude, its below the 207's that you should worry.. If you look at your first aid book at page 12.. you can see the ranges in which they accept applicants with there usmle scores... a 212 can be accepted in alot of the fields but a 212 is a competitive score for family and other fields... If you want to do something like emergency and such, your just gunna have to get the step 2 scores to back it up.

More hospitals are now looking at Step 2 scores more than Step 1 apparently now a days.. so dont lose hope!

212 isn't as bad as it seems.. even though on this website that alot of people get 230+... But people should know that the usmle mean is 212-216... sooo we got around the average.... Most IMG's only get 207 for there average USMLE grade... I should also mention that the USMLE have been increasing in difficulty each and every year.. so people who wrote there USMLE in 2007 had a very very different exam than compared to the USMLE of today.. Peoples scores are changing! an 89 six-seven years ago used to be a 224!

Take a look at page 8 of your first aid book and draw a line up from the two digit score up on the bell curve... You will be surprised what the 3 digit score used to be just from last year. Its alot closer to a 220 than the 2010 grade point average.... Just shows that the USMLE grades are tougher to get therefore the 2 point digit score readjusts to that difficulty

I have some opinions how best to use a qbank haha, i make it sound like im some drill sergeant but then again, most students on this forum already have a good background in medicine... But my blog is made for the school i came from which will help them most.. But the prep and materials i used can be used by everyone.

I will also mention that UWSA do have a +/-10 range for there results.. i remember i scored a 224(520) 4 days before the exam... soo be very carefull when doing these exams... There good but just be cautious.

NBME 7 is the best measure of your grade from what i am seeing now.

Thanks a lot guys for ur support but what bothers me most is that I got a 22 point deviation from my nbme 7 and 46 point deviation from my uwssa 2(nbme 7 was 234 and uwssa 2 was 256)...am not a very good exam taker and i got the least in the exam which counts the most the main one...i was literally shocked to see my score...anyways its a thing of past now..i would like to try for a pediatrics residency..is that possible with my score????or if there is no other option ill go for family medicine...that surely is in my reach aint it?
